We site our mobiles on robust, tanalised timber skids with steel connecting brackets and tow-eyes for connecting a rope or chain to move the unit. However we do recommend upgrading to steel skids if it is within your budget. With mobile stables, we replace proper plank kickboards with ply as this helps with the unit’s rigidity when being towed, as an option we can of course overboard the ply with wooden plank kickboards if you so wish.
What makes Chapelstone mobiles better?
- We re-treat all our stable building panels with a complete wood protector inside and out
- We use external structural grade plywood (not cheap OSB) which we also re-treated with our wood preserve
- Our overhangs are all lined with shiplap to prevent wind lift inside the unit (not cheap thin ply that after a short time sags and looks awful)
- We use quality galvanised and BZP door fittings
- All our doors are constructed using a triple layer construction method mechanically fixed as well as glued to help prevent twisting and to give a good solid feel “Just like a certain car brand” !
- Metal galvanised ridge caps which last
- Treated barge boards to protect gable ends of the roof
- Our finishing process includes hand routered edges to our doors and trims as well as sanded edges to openings
